COMMUNITIES: PROJECTS IN DEVELOPMENT
Domus prides itself on focusing on building infill developments with
great access to local transit and amenities. Beyond just employing green
features like energy efficient appliances or photovoltaic panels, Domus'
developments are sustainable in the truest sense helping to sustain the
environment, the community and the economic viability of the area. Here
are some projects currently in development.
10117-10127 Garvey Avenue
El Monte, CA
68 Affordable Units
When Domus acquired this site, it was a foreclosed piece of land originally
slated for a market rate development. Using Neighborhood Stabilization
Funds, tax exempt bonds and tax credit equity, Domus will turn this
eye sore into a
thriving, and much needed, senior community.
Construction began Fall 2010.
5 Scattered Sites throughout the Grid
Kings Beach, North Lake Tahoe, CA
77 Affordable Units
The Kings Beach Housing Now project addresses the urgent need for
affordable workforce housing in Kings Beach while helping to protect
the natural beauty of Lake Tahoe and its surrounding environment. By
supporting higher density infill development, the project will counter
the environmental ills associated with sprawled development.
Construction began Fall 2010 and is expected to be complete by Winter 2012.
12th Street at D and E Streets
Sacramento, CA
81 affordable units
In 2007, the Sacramento Housing and Redevelopment Agency awarded Domus the
opportunity to develop the underutilized sites adjacent to the La Valentina
Light Rail Station. Working with David Baker + Partners (Station Site)
and YHLA Architects (North Site), Domus will create energy efficient affordable
rental units as well as community and retail space.
Construction began Fall 2010 and is expected to be complete by Winter 2012.
8th Street and Railroad Avenue
Pittsburg, CA
111 Affordable Units
The proposed Siena Court Senior Apartments will continue the redevelopment
efforts in Downtown Pittsburg by filling a vacant parcel central to Old Town.
The project consists of affordable senior apartments as well as space for a
senior center and ground floor retail along Railroad Avenue.
Construction began Fall 2010 and is expected to be complete by Winter 2012.
